so you are probably wondering how the manatees first evolved firstly they live in west India,West Africa and the Amazonian manatee some you may of heard of the florida manatee and the antillan manatee their classifacation is kingdom animalia phylum chordata class mamalia order sirenia family Trichehus manatus. manatees can get as large as 13 feet and weigh up to 3500 pounds!The skin of manatees is thick and hairless exept the whiskers They are herbavours and only eat kelp and such. they have tiny eyes but can see in bright and dark water manatees used to walk on land aswel. The name of that creature is the condylarth next is the prorastomus,protosiren,halitherian,anomotherium,potamosiren,Ribodaon and the Trichechus.
The manatees have a unique dental system wivh is simalar to the elephants they also have no collar bone but yet big ear bones also manatees will help a animal in need and manatees have nails like elephants are also their ancestors are a dugong and stellers sea cow

The traditional gathering of kai
- traditional Maori believed they were the givers of life and gathered food and land for there ancestors
- the Maori diets were birds and fish also some veges
- The Maori usually cook in warm places like Rotorua
- they cook underground also known as a hungi they like to think they are helping the earth by cooking underground
- they also cook purple potatoes for a traditional reason
